A closer look
The 40 x 40 mm diameter case in stainless steel has softly rounded corners and is the signature feature of our Seventies models. It lends the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, which is limited to 100 pieces, a sophisticated vintage character and sporty look. Watch fans will love its technical specifications: up to 70 hours running time combine with water resistance to 10 bar. Two strap options are offered: matt black rubber or a metal bracelet in stainless steel with fine adjustment closure. The names of the colours in this special edition are intentionally left open to interpretation. “Plasma” describes an intense purple whose hues change according to how light falls on the dial. It represents a vision of the future in which the real and the digital world go hand in hand. Often enough, illustrative images and animations of futuristic scenarios shimmer in different shades of violet and purple. Glashütte Original transports this colour from the virtual world to the wrist, where its relevance and brilliance endure. The dial is crafted in our own in-house dial manufactory, where a coat of lacquer and printed lettering have been added by hand with great care. A velvety matt surface texture gives the luminous purple colouring an elegant finish and makes it suitable for a wide range of occasions. The two totalisers feature a galvanic black “vinyl” decorative finish that matches the colour of the Panorama Date at 6 o’clock. The generous use of Super-LumiNova® on the hands and indexes ensures optimal legibility even in low light. Ticking inside the colourful chronograph is the reliable and precise Glashütte Original manufactory movement Calibre 37-02 with automatic winding. The case back in sapphire crystal offers fascinating views of the mechanical heart of the watch, whose robust construction and refined decorative finishes are equally impressive: the stripe finish on the Glashütte three-quarter plate, the skeletonised rotor with Double-G symbol, the bevelled and polished edges, and the perfectly blued screws.
